SPRING IN THE SSSIHMS campus

Yellow flowers of the Indian Siris tree. The wonderful fragrance of the flowers is an indication that Spring has arrived.

Neem tree blossoms. Neem tree blossoms signal the arrival of Spring. They also herald the beginning of the New Year in many of the Indian cultures. Celebration of the Telugu New Year the Ugadi is incomplete without the  Ugadi Paccadi (Ugadi chutney) of which Neem Blossoms area an integral part.

Spring in India also is the Mango season. Mangoes grow in bunches on the trees across the hospital campus. All the mangoes are collected and then handed over to the hospital Dietary department for use in preparations for hospital patients.

As with the mangoes so with the guavas. In fact this guava tree was planted by the Dietary department themselves many years ago.
