In the Plastic Surgery Department of SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram, Dr. Gurumurthy, Director and a Plastic Surgeon performed a complex hand surgery for a patient who had a glass cut injury  in which his right forearm's tendons and nerve was cut and had therefore lost the function of the forearm. During the surgery tendons and the nerve were repaired thereby making the forearm functional again.
