TWO STATE-OF-THE-ART ECHO MACHINES INAUGURATED AT SSSIHMS, PRASANTHIGRAM

Two new state-of-the-art echocardiography machines worth Rs. 3.6 crores were inaugurated at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Prasanthigram here on February 16, 2021.
The machines were inaugurated at the hospital by the Managing Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust Sri. R. J. Rathnakar, in the presence of Director of SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram, Dr. Gurumurthy, Head of Department of Cardiology Dr. V.R. Iyer and the Head of Department of Cardio Thoracic Vascular Surgery, Dr. Neelam Desai and other staff members.
The echocardiography machines, Philips EPIQ CVx, are the latest, the best and high end in the world. The systems with their advanced features provide cutting edge imaging solutions, more user friendly interface and better workflow efficiency.
The state-of-the-art systems are equipped with one touch live 3D imaging, automatic strain calculator for all four chambers for the heart, automatic EF calculator and one touch multiple axis views of the heart chambers. The systems also come equipped with advanced transducer technology which provides multiple anatomical views at a single touch. All these features help the cardiologist or cardiac surgeon make better decisions more efficiently.
Speaking on the occasion Sri R.J. Rathnakar said that the tradition of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba of providing the best treatment to all completely free of charge continues with the acquisition of such high end machines. “ We at the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust continue the tradition of Bhagawan Baba. We are committed to provide the best to the patients who visit our hospitals. Howsoever expensive the equipment may be, if it helps our doctors and surgeons to provide better care then it will be made available,” Sri Rathnakar said.
One machine has been installed in the Cardiac Surgery Operation Theatre while the second one has been installed in the Cardiology OPD.
