An Extremely Rare 6-1 Cardiac Surgey

It is very unusual to have a patient present with three congenital and three acquired problems, in all, six major issues in the heart. A 37-year-old female patient came with Mitral regurgitation, Aortic Regurgitation, Tricuspid regurgitation, right ventricular outflow tract obstruction, ventricular septal defect, and a ruptured sinus of Valsalva aneurysm. 

This lady had aortic valve replacement, mitral valve replacement, tricuspid valve repair, closure of ruptured sinus of Valsalva aneurysm, ventricular septal defect closure, and infundibular resection.

In all, for six problems in the heart, we had six solutions, and with Swami’s Grace, the patient was discharged from the hospital within five days of the heart operation.

This is an exceptionally rare cardiac surgery and represents a potentially unprecedented combination of six complex cardiac procedures performed in a single session. As is the case with all the treatments at the SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram, this treatment was also provided totally free of charge.
